Sissi

Sissi and Nene are two sisters from a rich family. Nene, the older sister, is supposed to become Empress someday. Sissi, the younger one, would rather think about rock music than about the future. The young Emperor Franz-Joseph, who is forced to succeed to the throne by his mother, Sophie, learns that he has to marry Nene. As if that wasn't bad enough, he falls head over heels in love with the rebellious rock-chick Sissi.

“Sissi” is a piece about sky high expectations and profound disappointments. Loosely based on the biography of the famous Empress Elisabeth of Austria, it tells about ambitious mothers, ideal children, disputes and loyalty.

The story is accompanied by live music in the style of the 80s, inspired by Nina Hagen, Kraftwerk, Nena, and others. A turbulent play for the entire family.
